The reason why the tooth paste in the Balkans countries is often called “kalodont” (even if there is no such brand) originates from 1926. The place of birth was former Yugoslavia.
Kalodont’s popularity in Yugoslavia at that time created a trend of naming all tooth pastes by “kalodont” (such as Kleenex in the USA). It is filmed as a movie and the length is shocking 7 minutes and 42 seconds. To see the ad fully, please check the video:
Interesting is that the idea of cosmetic product campaign has not changed much. The Kalodont campaign was created by “Pobjeda film” and it was shown in cinemas. Pretty impressive… What is impressive even more is that this was the first ad ever filmed in the former Kindgdom of Yugoslavia.
